This standard describes the requirements for the materials and design of electrostatic dissipative protective clothing which is used as part of a grounded system to prevent incendiary discharges. Protective clothing against thermal hazards from an electric arc. The EN 61482-2 certification includes two test methods, both of which help determine how well the clothing protects against the hazards arising from arc flash events. In the open arc test, EN IEC 61482-1-1, the fabric and garment are tested to determine an ELIM value, ATPV value and/or EBT value. Common to the values is that the higher the value, the better the protection. The box test, EN 61482-2 simulates a controlled arc in a defined box and classifies the clothing into two classes; APC 1 and APC 2, of which APC 2 ensures the highest protection. Clothing that protects against heat and flames. This standard describes overalls made from a flexible fabric which are designed to protect the user's body, except the hands, from heat and/or flames. With the exception of hats and gaiters, garments for the protection of the head, hands or feet are not covered. The standard is divided into six indices: A1-A2, B1-B3, C1-C4, D1-D3, E1-E3 and F1-F3). The higher the value, the better the protection attained. Protective clothing - Clothing to protect against heat and flame (ISO/FDIS 11612:2008). OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 - Confidence in textiles.
